Interactive method of working WITH the horse to identify and release tension resulting in enhanced performance and well-being

Tori has been riding and working with horses for almost 60 years. A certified Master Method Practitioner and certified equine sports massage therapist.
As a child growing up she was immersed in horses . Her school teachers would often have to remind her to wash the dirt off her hands because she smelled like a horse. Still does. A Quarter Horse named Rose chose Tori about 13 years ago which is the reason for the bodywork. Rose came right before a life change and during the process, their connection strengthened on so many levels. Trust and respect with bodywork, learning together, and just being . Life blossomed into a new journey.
Her passion to not only connect with horses, but to offer them a safe place to relax and heal physically from work and/or their lives would give back to one of God’s most amazing creatures.
Becoming certified as an MMCP, Tori considers one of her greatest accomplishments. The commitment to enhancing the lives of horses in their performance, releasing tension and restrictions, and increasing movement – all with a physiological and emotional result that benefits horses is a lifelong passion.
To build trust horses, working with them in an interactive relaxed state, finding and releasing accumulated tension in key junctions of the body and enhancing their life is a gift that can be shared with every horse and learned by every owner. Tori works with all disciplines and serves the Triangle and Triad areas of North Carolina, and also the North Durham areas and Virginia.

An interactive approach, connecting with the horses nervous system and keeping in parasympathetic mode. Years of stress and stiffness can often be resolved in a few sessions, by relieving built-up tension in core muscles and key junctions of the body that affect the horse’s performance.
Recognizing and using the responses of the horse to find and release tension. In contrast to traditional massage, it works with the horse’s nervous system and the horse actively participates in the process. It is something I do with the horse, rather than to the horse. This participation and interaction Is what makes the method fulfilling for those who use it and transformational for the horse.

Bodywork targets:
The autonomic nervous system
muscles
joints
fascia
energetic elements
Tension is released in deep core and postural muscles, allowing the horse's spine to realign naturally.
When deep tension is released and the muscles controlling major joints of the body can fully relax and contract -
range of motion is restored in the major joints
increases range of motion improves length and eveness of stride, lateral reach and overall gymnastic ability
suppleness and strength needed for proper impulsion, collection, bend and the core ability to lift through the withers and back are enhanced.
$125 (plus travel depending on distance)
0-20 miles is no cost.
Every 20 miles is an additional $25.
First session is generally an hour and a half to get to know the horse and have additional questions answered. Each session thereafter is about an hour - more or less depending on the horse.
